Mission at Home

The Parish is committed to the belief that the church exists not to serve itself but to serve others. The Parish is committed to supporting the work of the church in the United Kingdom as well as overseas. These are some examples of where your prayers and financial contributions are helping to transform lives.

The work of the church in the UK

The Church Army undertakes a lot of work in the United Kingdom, and in Cardiff it specialises in work with young people, amongst young single homeless, those who self harm and in the Club Network that seeks to help youngsters in the clubs of Cardiff who need someone in whom they can confide. We support the work at Ty Bronna, the home for young single homeless between the ages of 16 and 21 years old.

The Rainbow of Hope Paradise Run feeds the homeless on the streets of Cardiff every night of the week, and offers them the opportunity to worship. The parishioners help to provide food with a monthly collection of suitable goods in each church.

The Additional Curates Society (ACS) is a missionary society which helps the Church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus to the people of this country, by providing parishes with priests and by encouraging vocations to the priesthood. ACS was founded in 1837 by a layman, Joshua Watson. He lived during the Industrial Revolution and was a close associate of all the leading figures of the Tractarian Movement. The Parish sends an annual contribution to the work of the ACS in helping to provide assistant curates in parishes that would otherwise be without a priest they need.

The Mothers Union is a major influence in the life on the Church in the United Kingdom, and throughout the world. At present there is no branch of the Mothers Union in this parish, but its work is supported by prayer.
